Which grades are utilized in GPA computation?

·        Grades for language arts, math, science and social science, and academic electives will be used to compute GPA.  Language arts could include English, literature, reading spelling, and other related subjects that cover English usage and literature.  Grades for religion, physical education or health, will not be counted.

·        When alpha grades A,B,C,D,F  and O,E,S, and N are both used, only count the first set of alpha grades (A,B,C,D,F).  If graded O, E, S and N* only, see point conversion below.

·        A grade, regardless of whether it is honors, regular, or remedial classification, will count the face value grade as reflected on the official transcript.  The letter grade shown on the transcript will be used in computing the GPA, and “+” and “-” will be disregarded.

·        The ultimate decision as to whether a class is to be counted or not is left to the judgment of the Pentathlon Competition Manager, Stanislaus County Office of Education.
