Stanislaus County Junior High Spelling Championship

Each school may send their top spellers in grades 7-8 to the Stanislaus County Junior High Spelling Championship. Word lists are available to participating schools online. The Spelling Master selects 90% of the words used in the competition from the word list with 10% of the words from an unpublished list.

Participants receive a certificate of participation and a medal. The top two spellers will represent Stanislaus County at the state competition and the third place speller will serve as the alternate.

The Stanislaus County Office of Education Student's Events Program is changing the registration process for all student events. All event information and paperwork is available online. Click "Event Information" on the left. Please complete a Registration Form and return as indicated on the form.

Note: Each participating district provides a minimum of one proctor to assist in conducting the event.

Championship begins promptly at 5:00 PM
LOCATION: Petersen Event Center
720 12th Street, Modesto
COST: $40.00 per two participants per school site
